"In the beginning of a change, the patriot is a brave and scarce man, hated and scorned.

When the cause succeeds, however, the timid join him...for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."

Texas Minutemen

Dear Patriots,

As Americans, you understand the importance of protecting our nation’s borders.  Yet even as our majority increases in Washington, elected officials continue to ignore this growing national security issue.  Fortunately, American resolve has never depended on Washington bureaucracy.

In October, the Texas Minutemen will be performing our 9th border operation.  Starting October 2008 the Texas Minutemen will be patrolling Deep South Texas, more than twice the area patrolled in Arizona.  This will be the biggest Texas Minuteman Border Watch to record!

Today, your generous donation to the Texas Minutemen will help make this event and others like it possible.  Success on the border is vital to keeping the pressure on Washington with the 2008 elections approaching and will only happen if Americans like you pledge your support.

So far, Texas Minutemen Border Watches have produced impressive results in very little time.  Issues being ignored last year like issuing drivers licenses to illegal immigrants are suddenly being considered because of the new awareness brought by the Texas Minutemen.  Washington is beginning to listen.

Yet with all the progress we’ve made, it’s important we not declare victory.  There is still so much work to be done.  The year will be crucial in determining the success of our effort.  The fight will be difficult.

We know we can succeed in protecting our border, but the Texas Minutemen still need your help in making our voice heard.  Your support will ensure a brighter and more secure future for all Texans.

Sincerely,

Shannon (N5KOU) McGauley

More Americans shot in Mexico
Written by Michael Webster, Investigative Reporter
Thursday, 15 May 2008
Four Americans were shot and wounded on Thursday as they were leaving the Arriba Chihuahua nightclub in the ProNaF tourist zone in the violent Mexican border city of Juárez. The shootings were apparently deliberate attempts on Americans. They were targeted not just random bystanders caught up in the wave of violence that has recently engulfed Juárez, Mexican authorities said.

Surprise! Mexican drug cartels infiltrating colleges and high school campuses in America

In a recent drug bust at the San Diego State University Federal agents and SDSU police culminated a yearlong investigation into drug dealing around campus and found it to be more sophisticated, more pervasive and more dangerous and far reaching than they expected or have seen before. These arrests coincided with the first anniversary of a female student freshman’s cocaine-related death.

Group files ethics complaint over Border Patrol shooting
Written by Associated Press
Wednesday, 14 May 2008
A conservative Christian group has filed an ethics complaint against a federal prosecutor, arguing that he mishandled the case of two Border Patrol agents convicted of shooting a fleeing drug suspect and hiding evidence.
In the complaint, Kentucky-based Christians Reviving America's Values asked the Texas Bar Association to investigate U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton, arguing that he willfully misled the jury to convict Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean.
Sutton's office did not immediately return calls from The Associated Press seeking comment Monday.
A federal jury in Texas convicted Ramos and Compean of assault, obstruction of justice and civil rights violations in the wounding of Osvaldo Aldrete Davila on the Texas border near El Paso in 2005. A federal judge sentenced Compean to 12 years in prison and Ramos to 11 years.
Appeals are pending in the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
"This whole case stinks to the highest parts of heaven," said Don Swarthout, president of the Christian group. "How is it possible in America to convict two border agents for simply doing their jobs and send them to prison for 11 and 12 years? How is it possible for Johnny Sutton's office to ruin the lives of two of our border agents based on the word of a known Mexican drug smuggler?"
The convictions caused a firestorm among conservative lawmakers and others. Critics have repeatedly called the prosecution unjustified and the sentences extreme.
In exchange for his testimony against the agents, Aldrete was given immunity from prosecution for allegedly trying to smuggle drugs the day he was shot.
Jurors didn't hear evidence that Aldrete allegedly smuggled marijuana into the United States several months after the shooting.
The complaint alleges Sutton's office misled the public and jury about Aldrete's subsequent arrest.
During his trial, Compean testified that he shot in self-defense after seeing what he believed to be a gun in Aldrete's hand. Ramos said he fired in defense of Compean. Aldrete denied having a gun. Both agents acknowledged not reporting the incident.

The following was sent to WGEN with permission by Jim Schwiesow for WGEN to post it out.  It is my understanding that this has not been posted elsewhere.  As I read this I thought of the people who will read it, and, those who will begin but not finish it.  This is so "in sync" with a couple phone calls I have had today that I take this to be a sign. I hope those I was talking with will read this all the way thru and receive the message in it.

US IMMIGRATION RAIDS ABOUT TO GET UGLY
Written by Jackie Juntti
Monday, 12 May 2008

I want to see the immigration laws of America ENFORCED
They are not *broken* they simply are not enforced.
Failure to flush the toilet doesn't mean the toilet is broken - it simply isn't being flushed (enforced).
If the Pro-ILLEGALS call the trash and disease being brought into America by the ILLEGALS as something to want then let those idiots go to Mexico and enjoy all of it they want.
I am tired of the Mexican and OTM's trashing of America.  I want to see this country CLEANED UP - and that includes all those who have done all they can to trash this nation.
